Residents speculated that the man might have lost control of his bicycle while travelling home and rode into the trench where he drowned.“The tyre mark shows that the man was on his bicycle when he crashed into the trench because the tyre mark was deep into the mud.”Another resident noted that the pensioner was described as a labourer who was undertaking some “shovel work” around the area where he was found. “I don’t know if he was going to work or coming from work how they find him.”
