In his message to the gathering, he affirmed that it was indeed a joy having come to the end of a wonderful ministry, one which stemmed from 58 years in the service to the ministry,China Jerseys, with another 32 years as Bishop of Guyana. After his training, he was ordained in that island.He pursued further training in England, after which he had returned to Guyana. Bishop George said that another ten years were spent in Trinidad, after which he became and functioned as a Canon of the Holy Trinity Cathedral in that country.
